dedicated to Sri
Tyagaraja.
 The

of holding the biggest
tank in South India
called the Kamalayalam
where goddess kamala
or Lakshmi is said
to have taken birth.
Kamala was said

called Panchamukha
Vadya and a sapphire

The temple is supposed
to have been built
by King Muchakunda
on Siva’s
request after the
battle where the
Asuras were defeated
by the king. The
king received the
Somaskandamurthi
from king Indra
and six other Murtis
which is supposed

– Muthuswami
Dikshithar, Syama
Shastri and Tyagaraja.
