 Tiruttani
temple is dedicated
to Lord Subrahmanya
where he resides
with his consort
valli. It is on
the way from Chennai
to Tirupati. This
temple is placed
on a hill.
Tiruttani is supposed
to be the chosen
home of lord Subrahmanya.
After he defeated
the demon Surapadman,
Subrahmanya attained
peace and tranquility
along with his wife
valli here. Hence
this place is also
known as Cheruttani
meaning the cooling
down of anger. The
lord Subrahmanya
is supposed to be
in a blissful mood
here and hence one
could readily obtain
divine grace here.
The temple is known
by different names
in accordance with
the various legends
associated with
it. It is called
Purnanagiri, kshanikachalam,
Mooladri, Neelagir,
Indranagri, Naradapriam
and so on. It is
one of the famous
pilgrim centers.
A lot of pilgrims
throng this place
from time to time.
Tituttani is well
connected by train
and buses. It exists
in the Chennai Mumbai
railway line.
