has the confluence
of rivers, palar,
Cheyyar and Vegavathi..
Appan Venkatesa
Perumal is the main
deity. It is believed
that this idol holds
the aspects of Siva
Vishnu and Brahma.
The Utsavara is
Srinivas with Sridevi
and Bhoodevi. It
is said that Lord
Varadaraja makes
an annual visit
to this temple.
It is believed that
the original idol
of Lord Varadaraja
was built not of
stone but was carved
out of the fig tree
found in Pazhayaseevaram.
Hence the Lord seems
to be arriving to
his birthplace every
year to mark this
occasion.
